About

Professional Summary

I am a commercial property management professional with 20 years of experience providing physical and financial management for a variety of property types including single tenant facilities, multi-tenant office, medical and retail properties. With additional experience of managing tenant improvements, capital expenses and new construction projects, I approach each property with a holistic view, thereby offering an owner value-add advice in an effort to increase value for the asset.

In my current role as a Property Manager with Colliers International, I am responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance, budget and expense control, contract negotiations, and vendor management. I also serve as the tenant liaison for each property providing quality customer service for the tenant and the property owners. I am a natural problem solver with a desire to help and serve people. My goal is to preserve and improve the owner’s asset, while maintaining a pleasant and comfortable place for tenants to work.

Accomplishments

Prior to joining Colliers, I was involved in the design, construction and commissioning of several major projects around Columbia, including the AT&T Headquarters building and parking deck, the Meridian building and parking deck, Main & Gervais building and parking deck and the Adesso Condominiums project.

In my personal life, I express my desire to serve others by helping those in need who cannot help themselves. I am a child sponsor for Compassion International, which partners with local churches in impoverished nations around the world to serve and protect endangered children, with the goal of ending the cycle of poverty in their communities. I am passionate about animal rescue and as a “foster mom” have found forever homes for hundreds of animals of all types over the years.

Education:

I graduated summa cum laude from Southern Wesleyan University in Columbia, SC with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I also have earned my SC Real Estate Sales License, SC Property Manager’s License and my CEPSCI License as a DHEC Certified Erosion Prevention Inspector.

When I began managing properties, I was handed a portfolio of nine medical buildings totaling over half of a million square feet. With minimal supervision and no training, I had to learn the business as each property demand arose. I reached out to trade professionals and gained valuable knowledge from the contractors I worked with each day. I learned by asking, “Why?” and by working through day-to-day experiences as they occurred. As a natural problem solver with a desire to help and serve people, I learned technical systems and construction from the contractors and gained valuable sink-or-swim experience that I find very helpful to this day.
