Graduated economist from the University of Costa Rica, with more than 15 years of experience in economic counseling, in the establishment of national and foreign companies, and the management of economic, legal and technical analysis departments.

Mónica Castillo, is the director of Real Estate Intelligence of Colliers International Costa Rica, coordinates the real estate intelligence division, which is composed of a multidisciplinary group responsible of providing real estate consulting, focused on the diagnosis of market trends, investment opportunities, historical behavior in the main variables of the real estate markets, quantitative and qualitative studies and diagnoses of the real estate market, historical analysis and trends in demand, inventory variations, price ranges and global market activity among others. In addition, it directs the formulation of various types of studies: comparative prices, appraisals and determination of land uses of land and land, feasibility studies, market studies, studies of greater and better use and site selection.

Previously, she was the Director of Technical Studies of the Costa Rican Chamber of Construction, where she was responsible of planning and executing the actions aimed at solving the requirements of the different subsectors associated with the Costa Rican Chamber of Construction, thus attending the Board Directive, as well as the committees of: Housing and Real Estate Development, Social Interest Housing, Consultants, Contractors, Infrastructure and Major Works, Industrial Suppliers and traders, as well as the commissions created for specific topics.

She has held management positions in national organizations.

For the effective attention of diverse needs, has shown a great capacity to work under pressure and simultaneously a large number and variety of subjects, obtaining important achievements, among which we can mention:

•       Reduction of the tariff of steel rods.

•       Direct participation in the creation and modification of projects of Law and Regulations, for the benefit of the development of the construction sector and the country, such as:

o   Amendment to the Law on the protection of the citizen from excess requirements and administrative procedures N ° 8220.

o   Regulation for the Digital Review Process of the Plans and Permits for Construction.

o   Regulation for the Readjustment of Prices in Public Construction Contracts and Maintenance Contracts, with the respective modification of the price indexes.

o   Electrical code.

o   Value added tax law.

o   Regional Planning Regulations of the Territorial Organization of the Greater Metropolitan Area.

o   Regulatory Plans of several cantons such as San José, La Union, Escazú, Santa Ana, Tibás, Curridabat, etc.

•       • Development of information studies for partners, such as the economic report and the legal report of the Construction Sector.

•       • Studies of both supply and demand of housing in Construction and Housing Expo.

•       • Report of perspectives of the construction sector with projections of economic growth.

•       • Central American study on the prices of construction materials and housing, among others.
