Companies of all sizes, from industrial corporations to SME software developers, flourish in this productive environment with its international industry mix. Frankfurt am Main, a world-class financial and service hub, is one of the leading European business locations at the heart of a dynamic economic region. Along with London and Paris, the metropolis on the Main is one of Europe’s “top three.” The European Central Bank is headquartered in the German “banking capital” as are a number of global players such as Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank, 248 other banks, Deutsche Börse, Eurex Deutschland and the administrative office of the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS).
Frankfurt am Main is one of the world’s most important financial centers. The city is the economic heart of the Rhine-Main region and home to countless companies ranging from industrial groups to well-known consulting firms, banks and SME software developers. Demand for impressive, quality offices with breathtaking views is high as a result, whether directly in the busy city center or idyllically located along the Rhine River. Popular locations for office leasing in Frankfurt include Bankenviertel, CBD, Westend, City Center, City-West, Eschborn, Hauptbahnhof, Ostend, Messe and Westhafen.
One of Germany’s Big 7, Frankfurt is also a key location for retailers because of the city’s population and purchasing power. The Zeil is Frankfurt’s main shopping destination with the highest footfall in the city. Numerous well-known German and international retail chains have stores there. Goethestraße is known as Frankfurt’s luxury mile. A variety of international high-end brands have opened their doors there, especially from the fashion and luxury goods segments. Activity on the expansive Bockenheimstraße revolves around restaurants and other retail offers in the upmarket segment. Nicknamed “Fressgass,” the street boasts everything from consumer to luxury.

He advised clients in corporate restructurings, insolvency proceedings, financing, M&A mandates and was active as a interim manager. I have been active in the real estate sector for about 20 years. Previously, Managing Director at Eastdil Securd I was repsonsible for growing the company’s business throughout Germany. Prior to that I worked at JLL, where most recently I was Regional Director and Head of their Frankfurt Office Investment team, responsible for large volume transactions such as Commerzbank Towers (EUR 700mn) to Samsung, Messeturm (c.300mn) to Blackstone and Skyper to Allianz (c. EUR 300mn). Beside portfolio and single asset investment sales I have experience in corporate finance, letting/tenant representation and valuations.
In 2002, I began my career as a consultant in the field of office letting and was responsible for clients with a space requirement of up to 500 sqm. I was able to considerable exceed the targeted sales performance in the first years in this position and gradually was put in charge of larger projects and customers with more complex needs. As a result of the high vacancy and low absorption of space, I developed a new approach together with my team. The idea was to involve the respective lessors of our clients in the process and not just pursue relocation as the only alternative in the traditional sense of a real estate agent. In doing so, the current lessor had the chance to equally participate and compete with the other alternatives in the selection process. Many times, this allowed the tenants to optimize their lease agreement without the need of relocation. Over the years, with over 100 signed lease contracts and lease prolongations, I was able to gain a lot of market insight and experience, which I benefit from today in the acquisition process and when guiding my team through complex challenges.
