Munich is one of Europe’s most attractive business locations. And experts agree the favorable trend in the city is set to continue. Munich knows how to bridge the gap between traditional and modern, between “savoir vivre” and economic activity unlike almost any other city. A well-balanced industry mix serves as the foundation of Munich’s stable economy: The city is home to internationally active corporations, SMEs and start-ups as well as flourishing traditional businesses in the building trade sector. Forward-thinking industries like ICT, medical technology, environmental technology, aerospace and aviation and automotive form the backbone of the Munich economy. The metropolis along the Isar River is also a key location for the creative and finance industries. Munich is home to numerous globally active hidden champions and headquarters to six DAX-30 companies.
The Bavarian capital is an economic engine and key location for numerous well-known German and international companies and start-ups. Whether new-build properties featuring exclusive fitout, charming turn-of-the-century buildings or multi-functional buildings offering flexibility, Munich has office space for all requirements and every industry. The following locations are particularly popular for leasing office space in Munich: Altstadt-Lehel, Maxvorstadt, Schwabing, Obersendling, Bogenhausen, Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt, Schwanthalerhöhe-Westend, Nymphenburg-Neuhausen, Haidhausen (Glockenbachviertel) and Riem.
The Munich retail market is one of the most popular destinations for retailers not only in Germany but also worldwide. Downtown Munich provides the perfect conditions thanks to its excellent infrastructure and accessibility. Maximilianstraße: A synonym for luxury. The location is tremendously popular with prices at the upper end of the rent spectrum. Some of the most renowned international top brands line the street door to door. Kaufingerstraße and Neuhauserstraße form the pedestrian zone and shopping destination between Marienplatz and Karlsplatz. The area is among Germany’s highest footfall prime retail locations. The spacious layout of the two streets offers plenty of room for a number of international chains and traditional Munich-based retailers.

Head of Industrial & Logistics | EMEA
In 2002, I began my career as a consultant in the field of office letting and was responsible for clients with a space requirement of up to 500 sqm. I was able to considerable exceed the targeted sales performance in the first years in this position and gradually was put in charge of larger projects and customers with more complex needs. As a result of the high vacancy and low absorption of space, I developed a new approach together with my team. The idea was to involve the respective lessors of our clients in the process and not just pursue relocation as the only alternative in the traditional sense of a real estate agent. In doing so, the current lessor had the chance to equally participate and compete with the other alternatives in the selection process. Many times, this allowed the tenants to optimize their lease agreement without the need of relocation. Over the years, with over 100 signed lease contracts and lease prolongations, I was able to gain a lot of market insight and experience, which I benefit from today in the acquisition process and when guiding my team through complex challenges.
