  • Currently, nearly 82% of intramural Paris can potentially reach the rest of the Greater Paris Metropolitan Area in less than an hour, compared to only 11% of its suburbs.
  • With the arrival of the GPE, Paris will see further improvements in the quality of its geographic coverage, but the most obvious impacts will be on the suburbs: more than 35% of its territory will be less than an hour away from the rest of the metropolis.

The principle of Le Greater Paris Express is to support and respond to the non-uniform population growth in the Île-de-France region. For several years, the inner suburbs has become the first area for the renewal of corporate real estate pools. It offers vast land reserves for the development of modern office buildings near Paris. Unlike Paris, which has an extremely low stock of land reserves. Medium and large companies located in Paris are moving to the suburbs. The demographic and economic dynamism of the suburbs is therefore in full swing, tending to shift the economic and social centre of gravity outside the hypercentre.
