After graduating from Aberdeen university, with a Land Economy degree, Alistair joined a firm of national livestock auctioneers (United Auctions - UA) based in Perth in their property department specialising in the farm & rural property sector, and ultimately was Managing Director of the property company. In 1986 Alistair joined the hotel & licensed property specialists, Robert Barry & Co (now Colliers Internatoinal) in their Edinburgh office. In 1991 Alistair was appointed Partner in charge of the Edinburgh office and following the sale of the specialist partnership, to what is now Colliers International, Alistair is now Directors of Hotels Agency, in charge of Scotland based in Edinburgh. Alistair has over 42 years of working in the property sector in Scotland, of which over 33 years has been exclusively in the specialist hotel sector inspecting hotels across the Scottish mainland and the Islands. Alistair's knowledge of Scotland - remote rural to busy cities - and its hotels is immense.
In the last 33 years will have inspected and evaluated over 4,500 hotels & sold over 500 hotel businesses. Over 33 years of loyalty to the same specialist property sectory and the same firm of professional property advisors
