Stephen has 20 years experience of the property sector, covering all aspects of both client and adviser needs. He is responsible for all finance matters in Colliers Belfast office. This is a wide ranging remit and includes;
Investment - cashflow and IRR analysis, buy and sell side due diligence.
Corporate Recovery - taking Fixed Charge Receivership appointments and oversight of all financial aspects through to statements of sale and rent remittances.
Client Banking Advice and Strategy - provision of reports and cash flow analysis to support client’s preferred options and strategies when engaging with their funder.
Property Management - overseeing a team of 8 accounts staff and all aspects of invoicing, credit control, landlord payments, service charge reconciliation and client reporting.
Valuation - oversight and compliance in accordance with company and RICS procedures.
Company finances - monthly management accounts, reporting into Colliers in the UK, cash flow and treasury management.
Stephen is also responsible for all IT and HR matters at Colliers Belfast so is key to identifying and ensuring systems and staffing requirements are met across all departments and clients.
Post qualification Stephen joined a former PwC investment client (two principals) to manage property investment and development companies and appraise ongoing opportunities.
Ultimately this role expanded to cover more than forty companies, owning forty properties worth in excess of £500m. After leaving this role Stephen was asked to fulfil the role of sole UK company director for seventeen of these companies (net assets > £100m) for a year.
Stephen trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the Corporate Finance department of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Belfast, specialising in Financial Due Diligence and Financial Projections on primarily corporate transactions.
