Award-winning Borders restaurant and inn for sale

A Tweeddale restaurant with rooms, which has won a string of accolades, is being offered for sale. The Horseshoe Inn in Eddleston, near Peebles, has been totally transformed by its current owners since their purchase of the property in 2005. Now fitted out to luxury standards and with a reputation as a destination restaurant, The Horseshoe is being marketed by Colliers International.

Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “The quality of the finishings at The Horseshoe and Horseshoe Lodge are such that there is a wonderful opportunity for new owners, probably taking a ‘hands on’ role in the business operation, to expand and develop the trading to new and exciting levels.”

A historic and well known hostelry with an eye-catching roadside location less than 20 miles from Edinburgh, The Horseshoe was transformed into a high quality inn after purchase by the current owners in November 2005. In 2007, it was awarded AA Restaurant of the Year, 4 Gold Stars for the Accommodation and 3 AA Rosettes for the Food as well as an AA Breakfast Award and AA Notable Wine List - standards which have been maintained for the last decade.

The original traditional roadside inn now provides delightful restaurant, lounge and bar facilities. Located to the rear is the separate Horseshoe Lodge providing eight luxury letting bedrooms, converted from the former primary school. Included with the property is a two-bedroom apartment, ideal for managers or owners.

Selling agent Colliers International is inviting offers around £650,000 for The Horseshoe, Eddleston by Peebles, EH45 8QP.
