“Veganism is increasing its appeal to the health conscious consumer and the surge of plant-based restaurants that were opened last month alone is evidence of this. Whether for health awareness or the perfectly orchestrated Instagram food-post, Brits are becoming increasingly infatuated with plant-based eateries and will most likely be in favour of vegan dishes to sample with their loved ones this week,” comments Ross Kirton, Head of UK Leisure Agency at Colliers International.
“We’ve also seen a steady increase in prospective landlord interest for niche concept space as a result of this latest food trend as well.”
The beginning of 2018 saw a surge of new vegan restaurant prospects. From the London restaurant signed by City Pub Co with Made in Chelsea sisters Lucy and Tiffany Watson, and advised by Colliers International. To By Chloe which took off in January and is now being dubbed ‘the Starbucks of vegan fast food’ according to The Times. Comptoir V (Kensal Rise) and Fed By Water (Dalston) are two established restaurants that have gone one step further to include Valentine’s Day menus, which include risotto love bites and vegan mac and cheese. For those outside the capital, there are a plethora of choices from The 8th Day in Manchester, The Oldware Shop in Liverpool to The Vegetarian Food Studio in Bath and The Warehouse Café in Birmingham.
