Investment volumes break through £2bn for sixth year running
We are pleased to share with you the Scotland Property Snapshot Q4 2019, the fourth in our new quarterly report series. The report provides an overview of the Scottish commercial property market, as well as the latest occupier market and investment trends.
Despite slowing by around 23% on 2018, annual investment volumes broke through the £2bn mark for the sixth year running. Strong interest from cross border investors continued as overseas investors spent £1.1bn in 2019, the second-highest figure on record and accounting for over half of all commercial property transaction volumes.
The spectre of Scottish independence will continue to be a factor in commercial property market in the short to medium term. In spite of this, since the election result on the 12th of December we have seen investor sentiment improve translating into increased investor demand.
