Having completed a Master's degree at the London School of Economics Max started work in the commercial property sector and for most of his career has specialised in the Healthcare sector, working first for Inventures, a consultancy division of the UK Department of Health and since 2004 for Colliers International. Max become a Director in 2007. Max is involved in providing strategic advise to healthcare operator's in terms of their growth strategies; reviewing and advising on healthcare developments; carrying out valuations and due diligence or trading healthcare and education properties; carrying out structured fundraising plans; and providing transactional advisory advise to healthcare clients.
Rachel specialises in Agency in the Healthcare team and works on behalf of a wide range of clients, including both corporate and private operators, banks, investors, developers, charitable organisations and local authorities. She provides bespoke marketing advice and exit strategies to clients, tailored to their individual requirements and where confidentiality is key.
In this specialist area, she has extensive experience in the sale, lease and acquisition of long term care homes for the elderly, specialist care homes for those with Learning and Physical Disabilities and Mental Health care homes, ABI units and childrens day nurseries.
She has experience in selling healthcare properties as freehold trading units (WholeCos), as investments and leaseholds (OpCo/PropCo structures), development sites and Turnkey opportunities.
As apart of her role, Rachel also carries out bespoke site assessment reports for care operators and developers incorporating demand and demographic analysis and competition research.
In 1987 I joined a national firm of Business Transfer Agents in Leeds as a Valuer/Negotiator and my duties involved valuing mainly retail businesses as going concerns. I commenced working with an associate company in 1990 and carried out valuations for bank lending purposes of various types of businesses, including healthcare, leisure and retail. I started working for a rival firm in 1992 as a business valuer and, whilst valuations of many different types of businesses were carried out, healthcare became my speciality. This work included the valuation and appraisal of nursing homes, residential care homes and day nurseries.
I joined Colliers in June 2008 as a Director in the Healthcare Department. I specialise in the valuation and appraisal of healthcare properties from single asset to major corporate portfolio instructions. Recent valuation work includes Barchester Healthcare, Springcare Group, Bondcare Group, Horizon Healthcare, Target and many others.
I qualified as a chartered surveyor whilst working for a local surveying practice in Croydon. I was subsequently employed by CBRE as part of their property management department and was then approached by Colliers CRE to join their Investment Property Management team, which I did in 2003. I subsequently joined the Healthcare team of Colliers International, where I have worked since 2005 / 2006
David has over 20 years’ experience at senior/director level in healthcare and alternative property capital markets, with specialism in GP surgeries, dental surgeries, pharmacies, care homes, retirement housing and private hospitals.
Before joining Colliers International, David’s healthcare experience includes Investment Director and Head of Asset Management at Octopus Healthcare, where he was responsible for all UK investment, fund management and fund performance of the MedicX Fund; Property Director at Primary Health Properties (PHP), with responsibility for new UK investment and asset management of the PHP fund; Partner (Healthcare, valuation and investment) at Cluttons LLP; and Special Projects Valuer (Healthcare, London Team) at the Valuation Office Agency.
David has experience in the UK, Republic of Ireland, European and Middle East markets.
David has a comprehensive understanding of each healthcare market, is well networked and provides expertise in valuation, investment, development, advisory services, deal financing, investment strategy, market analysis, acquisition, disposal, planning, landlord and tenant representations, dispute resolution and asset management.
Katie graduated from the Cardiff University in July of 2017 and started working at Colliers International in October of the same year. Katie now provides support to the Healthcare team based in Colliers International's head office in London.
