Helios cinema chain, belonging to Agora Group, has leased approximately 1,160 sqm in the Galeria Ostrovia shopping centre in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The tenant was advised in the transaction process by Colliers International.
Helios is the largest domestic cinema chain in terms of the number of sites. The company has 46 cinemas with 261 screens and over 51,000 seats at its disposal. Helios operates mainly in large and medium cities, but is also present in the biggest agglomerations across the country. The cinema in Ostrow Wielkopolski offers guests 4 cinema screening rooms with around 600 seats.
“I am happy that once again we have had the opportunity to build one of our own 4-screen cinemas, thereby supplementing entertainment offer of modernised shopping centres in smaller towns. I am also sure that people in Ostrów Wielkopolski will visit our modern cinema with pleasure, and they will be more willing to spend their free time in the local shopping centre,” says Tomasz Jagiełło, president of Helios.
Galeria Ostrovia, opened in 2011, is located near national road No. 25 and the Ostrów ring road, which is part of the S11 express road. The 42,000 sq m centre offers around 100 stores, services points and catering outlets, a Tesco hypermarket and an OBI DIY store. There are also 1,400 free parking spots for guests who arrive by car.
“We would like to sincerely thank Colliers for the successful cooperation in the negotiation process with Helios S.A. We are happy that Galeria Ostrovia has received a new, internationally recognised partner, which has joined our group of customers and will make our shopping centre even more attractive in the future,” comments Josef Saller, the owner of Galeria Ostrovia.
“In line with the latest retail sector trends, shopping centre owners are systematically enriching space intended for catering and entertainment. The extension of Galeria Ostrovia’s offer by its owner, the company Saller, with a multi-screen cinema meets the needs of Ostrów Wielkopolski’s inhabitants as well as neighbours from nearby towns, who until now have had to travel to Kalisz to go to the cinema,” says Anna Radecka, Associate Director in Retail Agency at Colliers International.
