How Colliers Singapore is responding to COVID-19

Colliers Singapore continues to monitor the evolving situation closely, and we remain committed to doing what's right for our clients, our people and our communities.



[UPDATE] This message has been updated on 26 May 2020, in response to the Singapore government's announcement of the end of the Circuit Breaker period, and phased approach to resumption of activities.

The coronavirus outbreak - also commonly known as COVID-19 - has forced rapid changes to our operating environment. Our primary focus is the health and well-being of our employees, clients, and the communities in which we operate. With this in mind, and with our new government regulations in place to maintain safe distancing, we have activated our response plans to ensure business continuity and do our part to flatten the curve.

Colliers has implemented new work arrangements for all office-based employees in Singapore to work from home, in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) recommendations. Site-based employees will follow the agreed plan with clients regarding site working arrangements in accordance with the government’s guidance.

Colliers Singapore remains operational, available and ready to assist you with your real estate and business needs. We are fortunate to have the platform and technology in place that allow us to work from home and keep our employees safe and productive. While our Singapore offices will reopen on 2 June 2020, this will only be for short periods of time and for critical tasks. Our people will continue to work remotely where appropriate.

As always, our commitment to client service will remain unchanged. Our people remain accessible and on hand to offer advice and assist you with any challenges that you may face at this time. We will work closely with you and maintain regular contact and business continuity, fully utilising our cloud technology (Skype, Microsoft Teams etc).

My expertise is Capital Markets. I have a wealth of experience in selling buildings, hotels and development land for nearly 30 years. Headhunted from government service, I sold my first office building at 20 Malacca Street at Raffles Place barely one year into my new role. That same relentlessness saw me through many more deals, some bigger others smaller.  I have developed a great network and invested in strong relationships over the years. People very often ask me, what drives you?  That inexplicable joy I see on my clients’ face when I close a deal!

These trusted relationships allowed me to successfully entered into joint ventures with both Capitaland and City Developments Limited (CDL) during my stint on the buy side with Wells Fargo (then Wachovia Real Estate).

Taking on Singapore’s leadership role is a significant career progression for me.  Together with my team of experts, we have multiply our profitability six-folds since 2016. We continue to collaborate with our colleagues across markets to deliver strong results for our shareholders. One of my key focus is to accelerate the success of our people. I mentor, nurture and help them become experts, and I like to see the next generation of leaders emerge amongst them. Being a mother of three daughters, I understand my people’s aspirations.

I am a driven and dedicated marketing and communications professional with over 18 years of experience in both digital and traditional marketing. A positive and high energy team player, I excel in problem solving with a creative flair and strongly believes in “talent wins the game, but teamwork and intelligence win the championship”.

At Colliers, I am heading the Marketing and Communications department. I lead creative, content and media programmes across traditional and digital channels – from integrated campaign conceptualisation and development to launch.

Prior to joining Colliers, I had over nine years of experience in the real estate industry. I spent six years in JLL and, subsequently, three years in Arcadis at both local and regional level. My not so short stint  in the recruitment industry taught me some digital marketing fundamentals and I also  learnt a lot from a people perspective which  defintetly help when I tackle Internal Communication.

What makes me different?  I have a  very holistic approach when planning big projects  and I am able to put very quickly puzzle pieces together and engage all the relevant parties  at the right time.  I  am a Polyanna and I only see my glass half full !
