Both new supply and occupancy rates of factory and warehouse accommodation in Thailand continued to grow in 1H 2020.  In a large part this has been fueled by the expansion of the e-commerce businesses which have seen their growth accelerated due to work-from-home policies in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Major online shopping service operators are looking to rent additional warehouse accommodation in the 1H 2020,

For 2H 2020, Colliers International Thailand sees the risk factors that need to be closely monitored include the US-China trade war, the Thai baht appreciating faster than regional currencies and the further spread or a second wave of COVID-19. These factors could affect the export sector and industrial production especially in the category of products that are not necessary for living.
