As of the 1st April, 2019, the total supply of quality retail space in Kyiv was about 1,314 ths sq m. New development completions amounted to 23,212 sq m of retail space. Among major shopping centers delivered to the market in Q1 2019 were SC Oasis (GLA ~13,200 sq m) and SC Smart Plaza Obolon  (GLA ~10,000 sq m). The demand for retail space is consistently high. Tenants are interested in development both in Kyiv and other regions. There is a gradual growth of rental rates, and decreasing of vacancy rate in most popular shopping centers. Retailers and Kyiv residents expect next projects to be delivered to the market during 2019: SEC River Mall (GLA ~55,000 sq m), SEC & BC Retroville (GLA ~79,000 sq m), SEC Blockbuster Mall (GLA ~157,000 sq m). Considering the competition growth, some facilities that were commissioned more than 10 years ago, decided to make  reconstruction or reconception (SC Karavan, SEC Dream Town phase 2, SC Pyramida).  In favorable political and economic situation in the country the demand for high-quality shopping centers  will remain high as more and more international retailers show their interest in the Ukrainian market.
