In 2002, I began my career as a consultant in the field of office letting and was responsible for clients with a space requirement of up to 500 sqm. I was able to considerable exceed the targeted sales performance in the first years in this position and gradually was put in charge of larger projects and customers with more complex needs. As a result of the high vacancy and low absorption of space, I developed a new approach together with my team. The idea was to involve the respective lessors of our clients in the process and not just pursue relocation as the only alternative in the traditional sense of a real estate agent. In doing so, the current lessor had the chance to equally participate and compete with the other alternatives in the selection process. Many times, this allowed the tenants to optimize their lease agreement without the need of relocation. Over the years, with over 100 signed lease contracts and lease prolongations, I was able to gain a lot of market insight and experience, which I benefit from today in the acquisition process and when guiding my team through complex challenges.
Besides my activity as a consultant, I am also responsible for the development and advancement of our company. In addition to tapping new markets in the field of office letting, this also comprises setting up new teams in the area of Retail and Industry/Logistics. In order to meet the personnel requirements, one of my main responsibilities is the selection of adequate employees with the according technical and soft skills. In this context, it is especially important to also identify the potential of existing employees and develop it further. For me, a comprehensive training program (RICS, MBA, EBS, ect.), as well as a modern management culture are essential for shaping and leading a successful team.
Ever since serving as a CEO, representative tasks have become an integral part of my everyday work life. I represent Colliers Frankfurt not only on a national level in the field of office letting and lead corresponding meetings, but also on the EMEA-level in the installation of a Practice Group. With respect to my committee activities, I am a member of the real estate portal “Immobilien-Börse” of the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a member of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt (Hochschule Darmstadt) in the context of my guest lectureship. In addition, I give training sessions and lecture on the topic “Commercial Letting” on several occasions and serve as a point of contact for the media.
