Mikel Echavarren is CEO of Colliers International Spain. He was President and CEO of irea since its foundation in 2002 until March 2018, when irea joined Colliers International. Prior to joining irea, Mikel was a partner in the Spain and Portugal real estate corporate finance division of Arthur Andersen.
With over 30 years of experience in the real estate sector, he is an expert in strategic planning for real estate groups and in complex mortgage debt portfolio, real estate company and property transactions. He has managed financial restructurings involving over €8,000 million worth of debt belonging to real estate, construction and services companies.
Joan is Managing Director of Corporate Finance department at Colliers International. He was a founding partner of irea from 2002 and in March 2018 he joined Colliers International. He has extensive knowledge of the residential development market and the Spanish real estate market. He specialises in mortgage loan portfolio transactions, in restructuring bank debt and real estate company mergers and acquisitions.
Joan began his career at Arthur Andersen Barcelona.
Ignacio is Managing Director of Corporate Finance department at Colliers International. Ignacio began his career in the real estate corporate finance division of Arthur Andersen.
Germán Fernández is the Managing Director in Colliers International Barcelona’s office. With more than 20 years of experience in the Real Estate sector, Germán has deep expertise in Commercial, Strategic and Financial area.
Previously, he was in charge of the Real Estate advisory company Niöra Real Estate, as the Managing Director, since 2018 when Niöra joined Colliers International.
He also occupied several top senior positions in Real Estate developing firms as Jujosa Constructora, Reyal Urbis, Altamira Real Estate (Banco Santander) o Altamira Asset Management (Grupo Apollo Santander), where he was in charge of the Catalonian and Balearic Island zone, managing a 1,599M€ portfolio.
Alberto is a Director Corporate Finance Department at Colliers International. He joined Irea Corporate Finance in 2007, and in March 2018 he joined Colliers International after the acquisition of Irea by Colliers International.
He has participated in debt restructurings, financial advisory and complex corporate & investment transactions in the real estate sector, as well as the sale of debt portfolios and REOs to institutional investors. Recently, he has participated in the advisory to Sareb to divest €1.000 million of NPL porfolio, has sold the real estate company Via Celere to Varde Partners and restructured over €2,000 million of debt.
Notable achievements include advisory services to financial institutions in the Martinsa Fadesa agreement modification process, the financial restructuring of more than €10,000 million, advisory services to Sareb on the sale of the Agatha, Macarena and Ines loan portfolios, Advisory services to Caixa in the acquisition of different PL portfolios and the structuring of residential investment deals with international funds.
He began his career as a Senior Analyst in the Strategic Consultancy Europraxis.
