Head of Scotland
As department head, Douglas has overall responsibility for approximately 500 properties under management with a total rent roll in excess of £230million. Helpdesk for tenant/occupier use and a full property accounts team. He has developed the business management procedures required for ISO9001 accreditation used by the CCRE IPM department across the UK.
In addition to his co-ordinating role in the leadership and direction of the Scottish Colliers business, Douglas is an experienced asset manager involved in the management of multi-let property portfolios throughout Scotland and Northern England for blue chip clients; seeking opportunities to enhance value by increasing rents, pursuing development opportunities, and controlling service charge expenditure. His experience covers office, industrial and retail units, including shopping centre and retail park management. He specialises in the administration of large property portfolios, controlling and deploying staff delivery site services, complying with client asset and financial reporting requirements and driving cost and performance efficiencies.
He acts as Client Relationship Director for Colliers’ major Scottish clients, working closely with colleague departments to ensure that all aspects of clients’ portfolio needs are met. He is also responsible for the direction of Colliers’ management staff, site staff and oversees day to day property management. This role includes public sector clients such as Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Court Service and Glasgow City Council where he has co-ordinated deployment and delivery of multi disciplinary portfolio services across multiple locations.
Working for CCRE’s joint venture partners, Douglas co-ordinates the asset management of several varied commercial portfolios and works closely with investment and development teams to maximise and enhance asset value and to co-ordinate portfolio wide reporting. He is also involved with the disposal of high value strategic development sites.
