3 New Serviced Apartments to Look Out For

3 New Serviced Apartments to Look Out For

Yangon is not at the best state right now, I’m currently working from home & I believe most of you reading this is too.

But do not fret, let me recap some of the few serviced apartments that have popped up in town.

Here is my divided opinion about each of them based on my visit a few months ago.

PS: Hit me up at Sitt.Paing@colliers.com to book for a viewing to see it for yourself (obviously this is not a sales pitch).

Davana Residence

Context

Tucked inside a private neighborhood with close proximity to Shwe Dagon, this up and coming low-rise serviced- apartments sure do have a very unique proposition.

Price & Size

Size starts from 1,110 sqft with an entry price of USD2,800/month.

Pros

Comfy Size: Unit size are above average compared to others; people who enjoy a spacious living area would definitely apricate this – especially families!

Teak, Teak, Teak: Teak couch, teak flooring, teak bedframe, teak doors – you name it. These sophisticated looks will truly stand out and leave an impression to anyone who’ve seen a unit inside Davana.

Cons:

Deep-pocket-club: You get what you pay for – Davana is not an average serviced apartment in town. Even though prices can be justified by the room size, doesn’t mean it’s for everyone.

Facilities: Technically, it IS a serviced apartment. But it’s actually a limited-serviced apartment; meaning they only offer cleaning a few times a week and linen change (bedsheet only) weekly. Status-quo tends to be quite different from this.

Prestige Residences @Inya Myaing

Context

A Hotel & Serviced-Apartments development with a rooftop swimming pool sure is a one-of-a-kind property in one of the most undisputed location in Yangon - Golden Valley area.

Price & Size

Size starts from 720 sqft with an entry price of USD2,000/month.

Pros

View: Prestige Residence have one of the best rooftop views amongst the others. With a swimming pool and a Shwe Dagon Pagoda view, what more could you ask for?

Proximity: Not only it is located in a very quiet neighborhood, it also has the amenities and the convenience you could ask for. You would only be a 30 SECONDS away (yep, you read that right) from My Hill Coffeehouse & a 10-mins walk to Marketplace.

Cons:

In-and-out: Although the floors might be segregated for hotel and serviced apartment guests, doesn’t mean you won’t be encountering strangers on a daily-basis in public areas. Hey - at least receptionist might greet you every time you come back from work, right?

Over-compromised: This just stress out the situation I’ve stated above – mixed with hotels. Even though the facilities are pretty good, you probably have to share it visitors from 53 hotel rooms they have.

Zealax Hotel & Residence

Context

Constructed by Myanmar’s unprecedented serial-developer, Shwe Taung Group, Zealax is the best development in Alone with its exceptional example of stylishness and opulence vibes.

Price & Size

Size starts from 440 sqft with an entry price of USD2,200/month.

Pros:

Aesthetics: Well, you can be sure about one thing - Shwe Taung never compromises on their developments. Not only does Zealax looks amazing, it sure stands out since you can say Its one of the best building in Alone.

Views: You’d never know if you’ve never been inside. The views of the river sure is breath-taking! Shwe Dagon view? Well you can get that too!

Cons:

Dent-maker: If you are into finer things in life, you sure must be okay to pay for it. Zealax has it all, and it expects to be compensated well for that.

Location: It just seems a bit odd, because you would normally feel like you’re in the outskirts of town with containers crossing by almost every day since it’s close to the port; Sule Pagoda is just 6 kilometers away though.
