John Lesinski is an Executive Vice President at Colliers International’s Northern Virginia office, specializing in industrial tenant and owner representation in addition to land and building disposition services. His primary focus of expertise is in the Northern Shenandoah Valley along the Interstate 81 Corridor. His clients include: Equus Capital Partners (formerly BPG Properties), LNR Partners, Lexington Realty Trust, the InterChange Group, Stagg Capital, Rialto Capital, and Weissberg Corporation.

His recent transactions in the I-81 Corridor include involvement in a 400,000 square foot build-to-suit for Fiat Chrysler Automotive, a 350,000 square foot lease renewal for Heinz Kraft, a 250,000 lease transaction with Home Depot, a 168,000 square foot renewal transaction with Bowman Andros Foods and a 170,000 square foot building sale on behalf of Rialto Capital.  John was also the listing agent for Laidley Tower in Charleston, West Virginia where he spearheaded transactions with Jackson Kelly, PLLC, Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo and Appalachian Electric Power.

John is a member of the Logistics & Transportation Solutions Group, a global Colliers team working in partnership with a host of engineers, consultants, designers and other industry experts to address the specialized demands of the international supply chain and shipping industry. Due to his extensive market knowledge and real estate expertise around the Virginia Inland Port in Front Royal, Virginia, John is a founding member of the Port Committee, a division of the Logistics & Transportation Solutions Group.

 

BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND 
John is a licensed broker in Virginia, Maryland,  West Virginia and Washington, DC. Prior to joining Colliers International, he was a principal of Leland Group Commercial Real Estate, LLC,  a full service commercial real estate brokerage firm in the Northern Shenandoah Valley specializing in industrial transactions along the Interstate 81 Corridor and near the Virginia Inland Port in Front Royal, Virginia. He is also the former Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Grubb & Ellis Company, overseeing brokerage operations, training, recruiting, business development and strategic planning for offices in Washington, DC; Tysons, Corner, Virginia; and Bethesda and Baltimore, Maryland.

John is a 1980 graduate of Santa Clara University, California and served 26 years in the Marine Corps. After leaving active duty in 1985, John continued his career in the Reserves and retired as a colonel in 2006. While in the Reserves, he earned a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence at the Defense Intelligence College.

Michael McGugan
Senior Vice President

Mike McGugan, a Senior Vice President at Colliers International in the Northern Virginia office, has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Mike specializes in leasing and investment transactions for office, industrial/flex and land properties located in the major Maryland markets and along the I-81 Corridor. 

As a member of the Colliers International Industrial Practice Group, Mike works with a global Colliers team, as well as a host of engineers, consultants, designers and other industry experts, to address the specialized demands of the international supply chain and shipping industry.

Mike is a licensed broker in Maryland and Virginia.  Prior to joining Colliers, he was a Senior Vice President at Grubb & Ellis for 10 years.  Before joining Grubb & Ellis, Mike founded Citadel Properties, a full-service leasing, investment and construction real estate company. 

Mike graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) in Charlottesville, earning both a B.A. and M.ED. He attended UVA on a football scholarship and was a four-year member of the varsity football team.

Ben Luke
Vice President
Tysons Corner

Benjamin Luke, a Vice President  in the Colliers International Northern Virginia office, specializes in industrial leasing and land dispositions. Prior to working at Colliers, Ben worked for 3 years as a research associate on both the Atlanta and Washington, DC teams at Costar Group, a leading provider of commercial real estate information and analytic services. 

Ben began his real estate career while attending the University of Virginia, where he worked for Roy Wheeler Realty and negotiated land sales in Northern and Central Virginia from 2008 to 2011, disposing over $1.35 million in combined sales in Rappahannock and Madison Counties.

Currently, Ben works on an industrial team representing landlords and tenants in both Northern Virginia and the Interstate 81 Corridor. His territory includes the majority of the Interstate 81 Corridor from western Maryland, south through the panhandle of West Virginia and as far south as Harrisonburg, Virginia. In addition, Ben works in Northern Virginia concentrating on land disposition and site selection for senior housing and self-storage clients.

Cody Emmert
Assistant Vice President

Cody Emmert specializes in occupier services for technology firms and government contractors. He guides his clients through the complex real estate analysis and leasing transaction process. Cody practices tenant representation and strategic real estate planning in the Washington, D.C. region with a focus in Northern Virginia. Cody helps clients navigate these dealings with expert advice obtained through more than 4 years of professional experience in the commercial real estate research & brokerage industries. Cody prioritizes the evaluation of each client’s organizational goals and objectives to deliver a detailed strategic plan for a well thought out transaction. In addition to working with clients throughout the DMV markets, Cody has also assisted corporate clients with national and global requirements.  Prior to joining Colliers International, Cody worked with Cresa's Tenant Advisory Group from 2015 to 2018.
