As a Research Analyst with Colliers International Cleveland | Akron, Andy is responsible for the aggregation, analysis, interpretation and reporting of market research data.  He conducts research within the commercial real estate industry by using a variety of resources to gather specific property data and market information for use in reports, publications, and proposals to better serve our clients.  Andy strives to provide quick and accurate information to our brokers.  Additionally he oversees the creation of sales and lease comps and maintains the database that collects information on properties in the local market.

Andy graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's of Urban Planning, and is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council. During his time at UC he completed co-ops with the Downtown Cleveland Alliance and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. Since graduation, he has worked for Mt. Pleasant NOW Development Corporation, LAND Studio, and Slavic Village Development.

2020 Q2 Akron Office Market Report
The Akron office market, which includes Canton Metro area in Stark County posted negative net absorption of 23,751 square feet during the second quarter of 2020, pushing the overall vacancy rate up 30 basis points (bps) to 12.9%. Coupled with the small gain recorded during the first quarter, the year-to-date total net absorption is virtually nil at negative 7,330 square feet.

Occupancy in the U.S. multifamily market climbed 30 basis points (bps) to 95.5% during the first quarter of 2020 driven by annual demand of 284,000 units in contrast to new supply of 263,209 units according to data from RealPage. But the real story began during the final few weeks of the quarter as the COVID-19 outbreak spurred government officials to issue stay at home orders and the closing of non-essential businesses.
