Because of my vast experience in property management, very little happens to rattle me. As a Property Manager for Colliers International | South Carolina, I take great pride in accomplishing the goals of ownership and creating an atmosphere where business owners can be successful. I feel that service is the primary thing that can set property management companies apart so promptly addressing issues and concerns of both the property owners and the clients who are renting space is high on my list of priorities. I always try and approach everything with the same attitude and response as I would expect if I were on the other end. I strongly live by the saying, “treat others as you want to be treated.”
I look at each accomplishment, no matter how small, as a win for everyone. Successes don’t always have to equate to financial gains or tangible material items. Sometimes bringing a smile to someone having a bad day is just as important as being financially profitable. When I leave at the end of the day, if things are in a better position than when I walked into the office, it is a successful day.
Much of my career has been spent working closely with development and new construction. I have been involved with the planning, development and construction of over 4 million square feet of retail and mixed-use properties along with over 3,000 multi-family units. My experience also includes millions of dollars in rehabilitation and capital projects.
As my husband and I have just moved to South Carolina from Indiana, I have yet to become involved in any organizations locally. In Indiana I served on several boards, participated in the Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon and volunteered with Mom’s Weekend and Dress for Success. We look forward to getting involved in the Columbia community as well.
I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Public and Environmental Affairs and concentrations in Criminal Justice and Public Administration. I also minored in Finance and Psychology. I have worked in the property management field for 32 years. I started out my career managing two buildings at the Park Fletcher (Indianapolis Airport) office park. Over the course of my career, I have managed over 3000 multi-family units, Class A medical office buildings, Class A multi-level office buildings, in excess of 3 million square feet of retail shopping centers and mixed-use projects in excess of $150 million in value. I have also worked directly with development and construction during site selection, planning, design and construction of 30 properties with a combined value of over $250 million. For the past 4 and a half years, I worked for a developer overseeing property transitions from development, through construction to opening.
