Damla Barrett is currently a Director with Colliers International’s New York City office and specializes in Tenant Representation Advisory services with a focus on the New York Tri-State area. She serves as a corporate advisor and leasing specialist, concentrating on advisory and consultation, space acquisitions and dispositions on behalf of corporate clients, non-profits and organizations.
Damla’s primary responsibilities include advisory, situation analysis, negotiating a variety of complex transactions, curating proposals, preparing surveys, leading space tours, that include direct leases, subleases, renewals, extensions and lease restructuring. Simultaneously, Damla continues to develop strategic relationships through new business development.
Prior to Colliers Damla worked for Jones Lang LaSalle, representing numerous tenants in a wide range of industries to plan and execute real estate strategies. Her deep understanding of the market, attention to detail and thorough comprehension of real estate transaction components produce successful results for her clients. Her goal is to partner with clients to understand their visionary and strategic needs of their businesses in their ever-evolving environment.
Before working at Jones Lang LaSalle, Damla worked at NAI Global of New York City for three years focusing primarily on shadowing high producing teams that included drafting proposals, executing ad hoc projects and performing market research.
Prior to starting her career in real estate, Damla worked for four years at the United Nations representing World Information Transfer, (WIT) in compliance with the Ukrainian Mission focusing on health and sustainable development
She is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and received a BA in Political Science.
