I am a Nevada native living in the area for almost 40 years. I was raised in Gardnerville and graduated Douglas High School in 1987 as class salutatorian. I have held a wide range of titles including cost accountant, controller/financial analyst, title & escrow assistant, office manager and residential and commercial property manager.
I have over 5 years of experience in Commercial Property Management that began in 2000 with EMI Property Management based in San Jose, California. Managing commercial properties in the San Francisco Bay area, in a two year time span I managed the expansions into a larger market, and also managed the construction remodel of the facility as part of the expansion. After 5 years in the area, EMI sold the Carson City office. For a time, I moved to Spokane WA to follow other interests including my passion for flowers and horticulture. I also added experience as the floral manager in a retail chain of stores in the Spokane area.
Upon returning to the area I returned to my career as a Coldwell Banker residential real estate agent in Carson City. I then transferred to the residential property management division before joining the Colliers International team in November, 2016. I bring my experience in management to provide our clients with the very best possible service.
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations Real Estate Management Services for the Northern Nevada office, I currently oversee a staff of five and the management of 1.7 million square feet of retail, office, industrial and mixed use properties in the Reno and Sparks market. I am the Branch Manager for Colliers Real Estate Management Services in Reno, NV. I moved to the Reno area in 2004 and joined Colliers International in December 2006. During my 30 year real estate career, I have provided management, leasing and construction expertise and service to my clients.
I have over 30 years of experience in Property Management that began in 1989 in Pleasanton, California as an accountant for developer / operator Callahan Property Company. I quickly migrated into a full-time, full-service property manager position, providing a diverse client list with services ranging from full service management, facilities and tenant improvement construction management, lease negotiations, and operational and capital improvement budgeting.
I joined Charter Properties in Pleasanton, CA in 1992 where I was responsible for the oversight of all aspects of Property Management services for a portfolio of office and light industrial space. I was instrumental in improving the overall value of the portfolio by approximately 15% during my tenure by developing streamlined operations for property R&M, enhanced tenant retention practices and prudent lease analysis and negotiations.
I relocated back to my home town of Fairbanks, Alaska in 1995 and joined Somers & Associates where I started up their Property Management Division. In the eight years building the Property Management Division, I grew from a single family residence management operation to a premier property management company that included over 200 residential units, two apartment complexes with a combined 130 units, and approximately 175,000 square feet of commercial office and retail space under management as well as various commercial leasing assignments. The highlight of my success at Somers & Associates was to develop a strategy for structured capital improvements and operational procedures for a 100 unit apartment complex which ultimately increased the property’s revenue and culminated in the sale of the complex for $2.3 million, doubling the original asking price.
