 Joseph A. Cabrera is a Vice Chairman of the Eastern Region based out of the New York office of Colliers International. Joe continues to build on his multi-decade track record of delivering integrated global real estate services to corporate tenants and landlords across the region and around the world.

Joe and his team joined Colliers International from Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as a Vice Chairman. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Joe was an Executive Managing Director of Insignia/ESG, Inc. and prior to that, he was the Northeast Regional President of the Galbreath Company, where he developed the firm’s Fairfield and Westchester county offices into a significant regional force.

Joe presently serves as Chairman and National Director of Colliers International Occupier Advisors - a select group of top-tier brokers and leaders throughout the world. Joe's leadership of Occupier Advisors has furthered the development, expansion, and success of the esteemed group.

Joe has been a member of the Everest Club every year since joining Colliers. The Everest Club annually recognizes the select few top Colliers brokers on a national level.

Accomplishments

Joe has led the completion of more than 3,000 transactions totaling in excess of 40 million square feet globally on behalf of major clients, including Thomson Reuters, Skanska, KPMG, FactSet, Elizabeth Arden and many other well-recognized brand names in the corporate arena.

He has earned numerous awards during his 30 year career, including the Real Estate Board of New York’s Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award for consolidation at Thomson Reuters’ 3 Times Square consolidation deal. The 855,000 square foot deal was one of the largest transactions in New York City and the nation that year.  He has also been awarded the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties’ Deal of the Year for assisting Citicorp North America, in its relocation from 7 World Trade Center to First Stamford Place.  Joe was recognized as one of Cushman and Wakefield’s top brokers nationwide for each of his years with the firm.

Education:

Joe holds a BA from Columbia College where he was an All-Ivy running back, and a JD from Temple University Law School.  Additionally, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the United Way of New York City, where he sits on the following Committees:  Governance Committee; Nominating Committee and Resource Development Committee. Joe co-chairs the United Way of New York City's Gridiron Gala - an annual signature fundraising event in conjunction with the New York Giants and New York Jets. Additionally, he is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York; and also serves on the Board of Community Centers, Inc.; The New Jersey Community Development Corporation and The Greenwich High School Sports Foundation; and has been a member of the Columbia College Board of Visitors.  He is also actively involved in Columbia University Athletics, mentoring current and former student athletes.
