Mr. Simel is a Managing Director in the Manhattan office of Colliers International. With an exclusive focus on tenant and landlord representation and 13 years of corporate real estate experience, he has developed a reputation for extensive market knowledge and for his dedication in providing exceptional client service
Prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Simel was Senior Managing Director for Handler Real Estate Services in New York. Preceding his position with Handler, he held the position of Vice President at CB Richard Ellis for nine years. While there, he represented many prestigious law firms, financial service firms and apparel and fashion brands to include Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld in its disposition and acquisition at 590 Madison Avenue and the Steinway Building; Bergdorf Goodman for its executive office space at 625 Madison Avenue and Investec Ernst & Co. for 45,000 square feet at the Chrysler Building. In addition, he was Macklowe Properties’ leasing agent for 540 Madison Avenue, a class A property in the Plaza District.
As a result of these successful assignments, Mr. Simel bases his practice on cultivating exclusive and long-term relationships with clients and local owners.
Prior to joining the read estate industry, Mr. Simel was a successful entrepreneur in the fashion industry. He was the founder and CEO of PHD Inc., a multi-line show room that imported and distributed leading fashion brands from Europe. He built the company to a volume in excess of $20,000,000 selling leading retailers around the world. He also founded the “Laundry Industry” store in Soho.
