Robert LaPorte joined Colliers International in 1982 and is managing director for the Valuation and Advisory Services group in the Boston office.
Over the course of his forty years in real estate, Bob has appraised or consulted on assignments throughout the New England states, New York, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland and California.
He is a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI, SRA) and has served as a Chapter president and was Vice Chair of the Institutes's Ethics Committee.
In addition to appraisals performed on a variety of property types, Bob has also completed land use and marketability studies for properties located in industrial parks and central business districts; feasibility and market studies for residential and commercial uses; review appraisals; lease arbitration and valuation disputes; and provided expert witness testimony.
Bob is qualified as an expert witness in the Superior Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Suffolk, Worcester, Middlesex, Essex, Norfolk, Dukes and Plymouth Counties, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board and The Massachusetts Gaming Commission. In the federal system he has testifed before The Federal Bankruptcy Courts of Massachusetts and Wisconsin and the federal Tax Court. In New Hampshire, he has testified before The Superior Court of Hillsboro and Rockingham Counties, the Board of Tax and Land Appeal and the Public Utilites Commission. Lastly, he has testified as an expert appraiser before The Delaware Court of Chancery.
