Professional Summary

Tom Heal has been involved in Utah commercial real estate for over 40 years. He specializes in office, industrial and investment properties.

Throughout his career, he has had a most impressive sales volume exceeding $2 billion. He has been in the top one percent of commercial brokers in the United States.

Early in Tom’s career he served as a commercial-investment real estate appraiser, in which he qualified and testified as an expert witness in various Utah courts. He represented the Utah Department of Transportation in numerous highway acquisition projects as well as property owners who needed consultation regarding analysis, appraisal and condemnation of their real property. Additional professional services include investment analysis, feasibility studies, market studies, absorption studies, negotiation and consulting.
Tom has served on the corporate side of real estate, having been regional vice president of real estate for a Kemper Insurance company and president of Forum Equities, both in Dallas, Texas.

He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) of the CCIM Institute, the highest and most prestigious designation offered in the industry. He is affiliated with the National Association of Realtors and the Utah Association of Realtors.

During Tom’s time in commercial real estate, he has represented major clients and projects in Utah, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and North and South Carolina.

Tom has been active in his community, having served with the Provo Rotary Club, and has been an investor and member of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah. He has served as a trustee of Utah Valley University, chair of the Utah Valley University Foundation and president of the Utah Valley University Alumni Board. He has served as a trustee of the Provo Theatre Company.

Tom is a triathlete and has been an avid enthusiast in parachuting, SCUBA diving and motorcycling. He is a commercial pilot and flies hot-air-balloons and fixed-wing aircraft. He served his country as a green beret in the Army 19th Special Forces for five years and two years in the Utah Air National Guard. During a three-year hiatus from commercial real estate, Tom was publisher and editor of an international travel report for SCUBA divers, titled Off-The-Wall, The Serious Diver’s Guide to Unspoiled, Off-the-Beaten-Path Dive Destinations.

Tom and his wife, Sandra, have been married 44 years, have five children and have eighteen grandchildren.
