Tyler joined Colliers International in 2013 as an Associate of Retail Services, servicing major retail clients in the Tampa Bay area. Tyler works together with accomplished real estate professional, James Kovacs, and focuses on the team’s Tenant Representation clients. He specializes in new business, tenant focused strategy, new market entry rollouts, infill markets, sites selections, off market pursuits, and lease negotiations.

Tyler is currently working with clients such as Lowe’s Home Improvement, Ashley Furniture Industries, Banfield Pet Hospital, Tijuana Flats, Panera Bread, Blaze Pizza, Mission BBQ, Crunch Fitness, Burger King, Ciccio’s Restaurant Group, Village Inn, Office Depot and more.


Tyler Peterson began his career in commercial real estate in 2010 after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a dual degree in Finance and Real Estate. He immediately began to apply his education in the area of retail leasing and quickly developed a retail leasing portfolio consisting of more than 1 million square feet of anchored and unanchored retail property. Since 2010, Tyler has facilitated over $250 million in leasing transactions. Tyler was named the 2015 Retail Rising Star for Colliers International. In 2016 Tyler had an award category created for him and was named the recipient of the Technology and Innovation award, thanks to the new best practices he has introduced while at Colliers International. Tyler was also named a Costar Power Broker for 2015 and was selected to the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2016 Up and Comer List in the Under 30 category.

Tyler has earned his CCIM designation, is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has served as the Vice President of Urban Land Institute Young Leaders.

Challenges Ahead, Opportunities Will Arise
The first quarter of 2020 will forever be marked as one of the most dynamic quarters in history for the retail market in greater Tampa Bay. As the 2020 year began, activity throughout (sales, leasing, construction) remained brisk, with submarkets like South Tampa, Saint Petersburg and Wesley Chapel having experienced increased demand and activity. The food and beverage segment of retail was the driving force behind much of the activity. Interest rates were at near all-time lows, providing cost-effective financing that helped to bolster and carry on the 10-year record growth experienced throughout Tampa. Unemployment in the region, the lowest in recent history and well below the national average, was championed by many in the local market.
