The Chicago-area industrial vacancy rate fell to 6.67 percent in the first quarter of 2018, down from 6.80 percent in fourth quarter 2017 but up from 6.59 percent a year earlier, according to Colliers International. After peaking at more than 12 percent in 2010, the rate has been hovering below 7 percent for nearly two years.
