Dougal Jeppe, senior vice president with Colliers International’s Downtown Chicago Office Advisory Group, represented Vital Proteins in its long-term lease for its 37,353-square-foot headquarters at 939 W. Fulton Market in Chicago. Vital Proteins is also constructing a new manufacturing and distribution facility at 3400 Wolf Road in Franklin Park, a transaction completed by Matthew Stauber, SIOR, Jack Rosenberg, SIOR, and Frederick Regnery, all principals at Colliers International | Chicago.

Vital Proteins will move from its interim headquarters located at 1201 West Washington in Fulton Market. The new space, expected to be completed in late 2018, will consist of three large floors, including more than 11,750 square feet of retail space and 25,603 square feet of office space. With space to accommodate up to 160 employees, Vital Proteins expects to double its headcount in the next 18 months.

“Vital Proteins was drawn to the creative energy of Fulton Market,” said Dougal Jeppe. “The adaptive reuse of 939 W. Fulton Market continues the trend of companies maintaining the building’s existing infrastructure but developing the space to reflect their culture and attract talent with modern amenities, such as the building rooftop.”

According to Colliers’ most recent Downtown Chicago Office Research & Forecast Report, 287,928 square feet of Class A space was delivered to the Fulton Market submarket during the third quarter of 2017. Demand for creative loft space in Fulton Market remains high, as companies such as WPP, Leopardo and Spaces recently signed leases in the area.
