Columbia, SC – Colliers International | South Carolina and its partner company, LCK, are pleased to announced company award winners for 2016. Every year, the statewide commercial real estate firm recognizes associates and employees who go above and beyond in their professional and personal lives. This year’s awards include the Transaction of the Year, the Community Service Award, the Management Services Award, the Largest Referral Commission Generated and the Most Generated Referrals.

“Our company continued to enjoy significant success in 2016 and in great measure, the results reflect the outstanding performances of our associates and staff,” said John W. Folsom, President and CEO of Colliers South Carolina. “As we highlight our team members who have gone above and beyond in 2016, we also acknowledge all Colliers and LCK staff who contributed to our outstanding year and helped to serve our clients so effectively.”

The 2016 Transaction of the Year award was presented to Peter Fennelly, MCR, SIOR, SLCR and Simons Johnson, SIOR, MCR, CCIM, who are among the brokerage leaders in Colliers’ Charleston office. Peter and Simons were successful in attracting a new investor to the Charleston region by applying their vast market knowledge. Within the last year, that investor purchased three separate properties in conjunction with two lease opportunities for a total transactional volume of $104 million.

Community is one of Colliers’ six Core Values, and thus, the Community Service award is an important recognition of a Colliers or LCK staff member who has given of their time and energy to worthy causes in their community. This year’s winner, Mary Winter Teaster, has done that and more, serving a diverse range of organizations for many years and most often rising to a position of leadership. She has contributed her time, energy, expertise and resources to organizations such as CREW Midlands, Girl Scouts South Carolina Mountains to Midlands, Mental Illness Recovery Center, Trinity Focus Group, Midlands Business Services Review Task Force and Columbia Rotary, and was recently elected Board of City Center Partnership in Columbia.

The Colliers Management Services Award is presented annually to an individual who clearly demonstrates expertise and professionalism in the real estate management or project management divisions of the company. This year’s recipient, Hunter Suggs, clearly exceeded the expectations of clients, tenants and fellow associates and has a long history of client satisfaction and accolades. In 2016, among other noteworthy accomplishments, his professional service, problem-solving skills and attention to detail helped Colliers retain a major management assignment that was at risk due to a transfer of ownership of the property.

Additional awards were related to outbound referrals of business to other associates in the Colliers enterprise across the country. The Largest Referral Commission was presented to Woody Moore, CCIM for a cooperative transaction in selling an apartment complex in Columbia. The Most Generated Referrals award, meanwhile, recognizes an important component in the success of Colliers’ brokerage teams. The industrial brokerage team of Chuck Salley, SIOR, Dave Mathews, SIOR and Sam Myers received the award for generating the most referrals to other Colliers markets across the nation.
