Real estate developer, Samuels & Associates, engaged Colliers to serve as the commissioning agent for its $150 million mixed-use development project, Continuum, to be built on a 2.67-acre parcel of land located at the intersection of North Harvard Street and Western Avenue in Boston’s North Allston neighborhood.
The Continuum project features approximately 325 rental residential units, 45,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and 180 below-grade parking spaces and 41 on-street parking spaces on two new streets created within the project site making Continuum a lively destination and a “new hub for Allston retail, residence, and recreation” that includes cafés, outdoor movies, music, and other social activities.
This project was designed to meet LEED Gold Certification.
Colliers provided integrated commissioning services in accordance with LEED EA Prerequisite 1, Fundamental Commissioning and EA Credit 3, Enhanced Commissioning from the schematic design through the warranty phase. In the role of commissioning agent, Colliers coordinated the functions of system documentation, equipment start-up, control system calibrations, testing and balancing, performance testing, and training.
Colliers also verified that all commissioning procedures were completed in accordance with LEED standards.
