Slack, Inc., the San Francisco-based messaging startup business, has officially signed a lease at 16 Chestnut. This is Slack’s first office in the Denver Metro area, and will be occupying 80,000 square feet consisting of two floors at 16 Chestnut slated to open in early 2019. In addition to Slack’s newly signed lease in Denver, they also have a headquarters office in San Francisco, offices in New York, Vancouver, Dublin, Toronto, Melbourne and Tokyo. "This is huge for Denver. With our largest population group being Millennials, those born between 1981 and 1997, we are seeing more and more start-up tech companies move to the Denver area. Our central geographic location also allows for easier, more direct access to a large [and growing] customer base. Colorado’s over 300 days of sunshine and endless outdoor activities are also a determining factor in businesses like Slack moving to Denver," says Chris Wiley of Colliers International, Denver, who represented Slack locally along his partner, Matthew Ball, in this transaction.
