Woodpile BBQ Shack has decided to make room for a bar at its forthcoming location in Detroit.

The Clawson-based Texas-style barbecue restaurant is leasing an additional 1,060 square feet for its upcoming spot in Baltimore Station, a project under development by The Platform LLC, Colliers International said in a news release Wednesday.

Woodpile, which opened its first location in Clawson at the end of 2015, plans to open the new Milwaukee Junction spot when the $7.6 million first phase of the redevelopment is completed this summer.

Woodpile initially planned to open in 2,000 square foot at 6492 Woodward Ave. south of Grand Boulevard. It is not clear how much the addition of the bar would cost.

The first phase of Baltimore Station is to open with full occupancy this summer, according to Colliers. High-profile downtown Detroit restaurateurs are expected to announce they'll open a new artisan bakery in Baltimore Station, Crain's reported last year. Construction on the second phase of Baltimore Station began earlier this month.

Colliers, a commercial real estate company with an office in Southfield, represented The Platform and Woodpile BBQ Shack in the lease.
