2019 Everest Award Inductees Bryan Johnson, John Stafford, Sven Sykes, and Tom Volini

Kansas City, MO – The Everest Club recognizes the top 10% of all Colliers brokerage professionals whose success and commitment to service excellence set an inspiring example. Only 260 professionals were inducted in to the 2019 Everest Club. Bryan Johnson, John Stafford, Sven Sykes and Tom Volini are Kansas City's 2019 inductees.

Bryan Johnson

Bryan Johnson is the CEO of Colliers International | Kansas City, representing office tenants in Kansas City and nationally for the last 39 years.  Bryan joined the firm that is now Colliers International | Kansas City in 1984, specializing in advising and representing companies with office space needs. Prior to Colliers, he was with CB Richard Ellis in Kansas City from 1979 to 1984, where he obtained the status of the number one salesperson overall for the Kansas City office.

John Stafford

John specializes in the sales and leasing of industrial properties throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, as well as tenant and buyer representation. Since 2006, John has leased/sold more than 10 million square feet of real estate, completing over 500 transactions, with a total volume exceeding $500 million dollars.

John Stafford began his commercial real estate career in 2006 and joined Colliers in January of 2011. In 2012, John was promoted to Senior Vice President, in 2013 became a partner of the firm, and in 2019 was promoted to Executive Vice President.

Sven Sykes

As a 33-year veteran and executive vice president with Colliers International’s Occupier Advisors Group, I help grow the company’s tenant representation platform in Chicago while also performing national corporate services work.

Throughout my time in the industry, I have represented Fortune 500 companies in metropolitan Chicago, Kansas City and nationwide. My more than 1,000 office leasing and consulting assignments total over 25 million square feet and are valued in excess of $5 billion. My assignments in over 90 U.S. cities have ranged from 1,000 to 900,000 square feet. Strategic multi-market accounts I have assisted include:  NAVTEQ, RH Donnelley, HNTB Corporation, Koch Industries, Hallmark Corporation, Wausau Insurance Companies, Compuware Corporation, McDonald’s Corporation, DST Systems, Stinson Leonard Street LLP, Husch Blackwell LLP, Hub Group, Inc., Nationwide Insurance, Wausau Benefits, Konica Minolta and Nokia.

Prior to joining Colliers, I spent eight years with Grubb & Ellis where I specialized in office tenant representation in metropolitan Chicago and nationally for my strategic multi-market clients.

I also served as the executive director of real estate and co-managed the tenant representation group at Insignia/ESG.  I also worked for U.S. Equities Real Estate Services for eight years and Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate Services.

Thomas Volini

Executive Vice President

Tom Volini serves as Executive Vice President with Colliers | Chicago’s Occupier Advisors Group. Tom joined Colliers International in 2011 and is responsible for growing the company’s tenant representation platform in the Chicago region, while servicing and expanding the strategic national accounts practice group.

Tom has been exclusively representing office tenants in lease negotiations for over 24 years, having completed assignments totaling over 20 million square feet with financial consideration in excess of $6 billion.He is a skilled strategist providing in-depth analysis, negotiating expertise, and creative real estate solutions to his clients. When advising clients, Tom draws upon a broad range of real estate consulting experience along with his significant corporate board responsibilities and his active investment partnership expertise.

In addition to Tom’s long-standing career in commercial real estate, he has a broad range of business experience. He is the Managing Partner of Maplewood LLC and founder of   Baden Capital. He also served as Vice Chairman of Cevaal Insurance. Prior to Cevaal, he was the Senior Equity Investor with The Winbury Group until the partnership sold to Colliers at the end of 2010. Tom has served on several board of directors including Midwestern Electric, Kansas State Bank, Lyon County State Bank and “REIA”, the Real Estate Investment Association.

Tom is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago The City Club of Chicago and The Chicago Club.
