July 19, 2018 - The 2-story, red-brick church that has stood at the corner of Russell Street and South 9th Street since 1903 sold last week.
Situated on 0.29 acres in East Nashville's Historic Edgefield District, the 17,051-square foot building encompasses unique design features including circular stained-glass windows.
The building has served various congregations over the decades and was most recently home to seller Life Church International. The purchasing party, composed of local investors, has expressed interest in adapting the space into a 17-room boutique hotel.
Vickie Saito and Tom Davis of Colliers International's Nashville office represented the seller in this transaction. The adjacent 0.27-acre parking lot at 901 Russell Street was included in the sale.
Davis commented, "This boutique hotel is going to be such an asset to its historic neighborhood. East Nashville is home to many popular restaurants and retailers, but has a serious shortage of hotel offerings. The adaptive reuse of this facility brings us one step closer to filling the gap."
