Up to twelve teams, with more than 100 logistics personnel, participate in four challenges. This year’s teams include Colliers International, ContainerPort Group, Expeditors, Givens, Keurig Green Mountain, QVC, Southeast Industrial Equipment, Inc., Target, The Port of Virginia, Tidewater Staffing, and World Distribution Services.
Net proceeds from the LogistXGames are donated to the Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation and Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation in support of workforce development program scholarships. The maritime and logistics industry is a major economic engine for the region and Commonwealth of Virginia. Training and development of the Norfolk regional workforce is critical to sustaining the growth of this vital industry and economic driver.
“To date the LogistXGames has raised over $121,000 to support the region’s logistics workforce,” said Lang Williams, SIOR, senior vice president with Colliers International and co-founder and co-chair of the event.
Scott Flanders with Ace Hardware Corporation, co-founder and co-chair of the event, noted. “The events are a fun way to assist our logistic employers with team building, workforce recruitment, training, employee recognition and networking.”
Colliers International also hosts a LogistXGames in Richmond, with the 2019 5th Annual RVA LogistXGames to be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
