A New York real estate developer has bought the One Monument Avenue building and plans to give the Richmond landmark a new life.
Plans call for the 34 upscale apartment units in the building — it was the former Stuart Circle Hospital — to be converted into condominiums with each unit selling for between $300,000 and $650,000.
The building, which sits at Monument Avenue and Stuart Circle in the shadow of the Confederate Gen. J.E.B. Stuart statue, would get a makeover, including the residential units, the lobby and hallways and the community rooms.
Martin Blum, with Colliers International, represented the sellers in the transaction.
