- The Atlanta retail market ended 2017 with over 2.6 million square feet of space absorbed. Leasing has remained solid with over 1 million square feet of activity in each quarter since 2008.
- The current vacancy rate of 7.6% is the lowest since 2005.
- Average rental rates are the highest they have been since 2013.
- Macroeconomic conditions in Atlanta continue to be positive with the unemployment rate down to 4.2% from 4.8% a year prior and the Atlanta consumer price index up 3.2% year-over-year. As of November the Atlanta economy had added 56,000 jobs over the last 12 months. This brought Atlanta’s employment figure to over 2.8 million people.

The Battery at SunTrust Park continues to add tenants with five more restaurants opening in the fourth quarter. FEED Fried Chicken & Such, The El Felix, C. Ellet’s, Achie’s and CRU Food and Wine Bar have all begun serving customers. Next up is Ponce City Market favorite El Super Pan, which is set to join The Battery this spring. The former home of the Atlanta Braves and the surrounding Summerhill area is beginning to see more activity as well.
