High demand for office creates landlord market, spurs buyer activity
West Michigan continues to show signs of a healthy market in Q2, marking the 30th consecutive quarter of positive net absorption, albeit a slowdown compared to previous quarters. The unemployment rate in Grand Rapids continues to decline, and many companies are growing. In fact, Ottawa and Kent counties have the lowest unemployment rates in the state at 2.7 and 2.9 percent, respectively. The employment growth in Grand Rapids increased 1.8 percent over the last year, outpacing the national employment growth rate of 1.6 percent.
