Amazon highlights an active year for vacant land sales

Executive Summary

The West Michigan commercial real estate market is characterized by low and decreasing vacancy, record-high rental rates in prime locations, and extremely strong demand as companies continue to enter and expand within the area. The unemployment rate for the Grand Rapids-Wyoming MSA at the end of the third quarter was a mere 2.7 percent, and the population has grown
by 5.8 percent since 2010, which has translated into a very healthy real estate market. Because of rising property values and limited available inventory, vacant land owners have benefited and will continue to do so.
