New Tenants Fight for Limited Parking Spaces

  • Parking options are limited and almost non-existent for new tenants entering Greenville’s Central Business District (CBD).  The CBD’s 20 parking facilities offer approximately 7,980 parking spaces, none of which are available.  New tenants are finding themselves negotiating with parking facilities for the few spaces which are not in use, but are being held from the public.  A demand for new parking facilities is apparent in the market.
  • A new parking facility is under construction and upon completion should alleviate some of the stress tenants are facing.  The new 470-space, five-story city parking garage will be within two blocks of ONE Greenville.  The facility is anticipated to complete by 2015.
  • Hourly parking rates in garages averaged approximately $1.00 per hour at mid-year 2014 with maximum daily rates averaging $6.00.
  • Monthly rates for reserved parking spots in the CBD range from $35.00 to $110.00.
