In the fourth quarter of 2018, Broward County’s industrial market began to pick up as a large amount of space delivered. In 2018, a total of 1.7 million square feet of industrial and flex space was delivered to the County. Broward County currently has a total of 2.4 million square feet of industrial and flex space under construction, the largest amount of space under construction in the county since 2001. Broward saw a negative 16,652 square feet of space absorbed as leasing activity saw a small decline in the fourth quarter of 2018. Overall, Broward County has 1.2 million square feet absorbed in 2018, showing the resilience of South Florida’s industrial market.
