Leasing Activity Softens with COVID-19
As the first quarter of 2020 ended, COVID-19 proved to be a major setback for retailers as shelter-in-place mandates were ordered to curb the spread of the pandemic. This impacted retailers as they were forced to close their businesses and consumers were both unable and unwilling to go shop and dine. Year-over-year the Northern California region experienced a slight decrease in total availability of 38 basis points at the end of the first quarter of 2020.
