Occupancy Rates and Lease Activity Steady Despite Quarter's Negative Absorption

Despite steady leasing activity throughout 2018, the Tampa Bay office market’s absorption rate varied from quarter to quarter primarily due to the movement of a few large users. Following the third quarter, which boasted a 10-year high in net absorption, the fourth quarter saw negative net absorption of (269,060) square feet, largely derived from several large users in the I-75 Corridor exiting the market, such as Coca-Cola.
