I began my career in construction, where I spent 15 years managing construction of commercial and industrial buildings. After witnessing several projects begin with bad information, unrealistic timelines and cost expectations that didn’t meet the market, I moved into project management to ensure my clients had an industry expert as their advocate. Today, I head Colliers International's project management team in the Midwest.

My experience in design, construction and management of large portfolios of property helps ensure that the total real estate picture is considered in any transaction. My abilities range from strategic occupancy planning, to site analysis and selection, negotiation support, design, construction and move management. I have managed the selection, design and construction of more than 140 million square feet of real estate with total project values exceeding $2 billion. I have managed numerous types of projects including corporate headquarters, public buildings, redevelopment and repositioning of facilities, mission critical facilities, warehouse and industrial development, retail, multi-family, medical office and commercial interiors.     

I work with senior management to understand their business goals and translate those into facility decisions that are completed on time and on budget while meeting the highest quality standards. I am the one constant from the concept through to occupancy and beyond.

Prior to joining Colliers, I founded and built the project management business unit at CB Richard Ellis and Equis. I am one of the pioneers of client oriented project management and help each client ensure they have an expert on their side during any facility project.  

With a bachelor's degree in architecture, I have additional training through the Project Management Institute, Corenet Global and The United States Green Building Council.

Daniel Quinn
Executive Vice President

Dan Quinn joined Colliers International in January 2005. He is an executive vice president, head of the Development & Consulting Services group and a shareholder of the firm. He has over 30 years of development and consulting experience in the commercial real estate industry. Dan’s two primary areas of expertise are real estate development and consulting services.  

Dan began his career as an architect in New York City and, after acquiring his MBA, joined the Philadelphia-based real estate investment, development and consulting firm Radnor Advisors in 1980.  Named president of the firm in 1992, he oversaw its sale to Insignia/ESG in 1997. With its subsequent acquisition by CB Richard Ellis, Dan moved to Washington, D.C. in 2000 to head CBRE’s Mid-Atlantic Consulting Group.

In his role as a development manager, he has overseen the planning, design and construction of over 10 million square feet of office, educational, data center, healthcare and life science space. He also has extensive experience in the areas of master planning, entitlement and land development.

Dan’s development clients including the Vanguard Group, Hewlett Packard, Steward Health Care System, Samsung, Princeton University, the New England Conservatory of Music, Liberty Mutual Group, Maine Medical Center, John Hancock and private investors.

Over the course of his career, Dan has provided consulting services domestically and internationally to corporations, institutions and non-profits. These services have included strategic real estate planning, feasibility studies, site searches and disposition of excess assets.

I have been a Los Angeles resident for over thirty years and have been involved in the design and construction business as long, providing architectural and project management services in various capacities. I was fortunate enough to have developed an affinity for building at an early age. I had my first professional engineering job before the age of twenty and managed my first high-rise office project before the age of thirty. I had my own project management firm for five years before joining Colliers.

Early in my career as an architect, I was fascinated by the technical aspects of putting buildings together. My love of design and construction led me to a broader interest in the overall process and meeting the challenges of orchestrating the resources, designers, constructors, vendors and all the people who, if properly managed, contribute to a successful project. This passion for organization ultimately led me to a second career in project management.

While many aspects of my profession are standardized, all clients differ greatly in their needs, goals and aspirations. As a Director of Project Management at Colliers, I am able to draw from my years of experience and leverage my market knowledge to provide and manage the correct mix of resources and services to deliver spaces and buildings that meet each client’s unique objectives.

I live just outside of the downtown area with my wife and two children, where pastimes include watching them excel in soccer, going on long camping trips and occasional whitewater rafting expeditions.
