Colliers International | Kansas City was initially founded as Property Company of America in 1984 with a strong foundation based on two decades of knowledge and experience gained from past affiliations with companies such as Trammell Crow, Lincoln Property Company and CB Commercial Real Estate Services. In 1989 the company became The Winbury Group in response to a rising need in the marketplace to provide commercial real estate services to third parties. Colliers International acquired an interest in the firm in 2010, thus partnering with The Winbury Group to form Colliers International | Kansas City.

Ed Elder joined the firm in 1995 as a shareholder. Ed currently serves as President of the Colliers Kansas City office where he is responsible for overseeing all brokerage operations of the Kansas City, Missouri and Lawrence, Kansas offices.
Ed’s specialty is in the sale and leasing of industrial properties along with providing clients expertise on site selection and development services for new construction in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Ed has significant commercial real estate experience and has been successful in representing many local and national clients in their real estate assignments.
Ed’s passion for community service includes sports and health. He is an avid supporter and board member for Coaches vs. Cancer | American Cancer Society, The University of Kansas Cancer Funding Partners, Cristo Rey Corporate Workstudy Program, Morning Glory Ministries and United Way Tocqueville Society as well as currently serves as a board member for the NE Kansas Catholic Charities Foundation Board.

Mr. Hoenig has been involved with real estate valuation and consulting for over ten years. Mr. Hoenig has developed appraisal and consulting reports on a variety of commercial property types including retail, industrial manufacturing and distribution, mixed use, multifamily, condominium, single-family subdivision, vacant land and agricultural land. Mr. Hoenig also has experience in a variety of special use property types including fitness centers, community centers, lodging facilities, resorts, student housing, acute care hospitals, senior housing, bio-science, and entertainment properties including concert halls and sporting venues. Valuations have been performed on behalf of institutional investors, REITs, attorneys, government entities, individual investors, and commercial banks for a variety of uses including financing, litigation, dispute resolution, estate planning, tax appeal, and asset disposition.
