Colliers Awarded Property Management Contract for Kinsale Headquarters

Kinsale first engaged Colliers as its fee developer in addition to appointing the company as its property manager.

Richmond, VA – October 12, 2020 Colliers International Virginia is pleased to announce it has been selected as the property manager for Kinsale’s 150,000 square foot headquarters in Henrico County.  Colliers’ Joe Marchetti was engaged at the beginning of the two-and-a-half-year long project as Kinsale’s fee developer along with Hourigan Development.

Kinsale, a specialty insurer, announced back in 2018 its plan to develop a $50 million headquarters building because of its significant growth.  The new development is located at Maywill and Thalbro streets on 5.6 acres, where Kinsale will be occupying three out of the five floors of new “State of the Art” office building. The site also includes a four-story parking deck and a 263-unit apartment building, being developed by Tennessee-based, Bristol Development Group, which is planned to be completed in 2021.  

Colliers’ Real Estate Management Services (REMS) team, led by Todd Willett, Regional Managing Director, will be responsible for managing the building as well as the adjacent 600-space parking deck.  The team will be providing all-inclusive services such as building services, lease administration, and accounting services.

Marchetti acted as a development and real estate consultant for Kinsale, assisting with the site selection, design, development, contract bidding and re-zoning.

The project went incredibly smooth because of the strong communications and coordination form the Planning Department and the Department of Building Construction and Inspections.” 
Since March 1st, the REMS team has won over 3.5 million square feet of management business, bringing its overall portfolio to more than 44 million square feet.
